Published Admission Number (PAN) Consultation
Proposal to reduce the PAN at Oak Wood School
Statutory consultation on the proposed reduction in Published Admission Number (PAN) for Oak wood School from 270 to 240 for 2023/24 academic year and subsequent years.
The Published Admission Number (PAN) at Oak Wood school is currently 270. This means that the number of pupils admitted to the school in Year 7 each year is a maximum of 270. The Governors and Senior Leadership Team at Oak Wood School wish to reduce this by 30 places which will result in an annual pupil intake of 240 effective September 2023 onward.
Reducing the PAN will assist the school to provide stability in its long-term planning and allow the school to secure high-quality educational outcomes for the pupils currently on our roll, while continuing to provide an appropriate number of places for future pupil numbers in line with demand in the Hillingdon area. Although the Regulations and Code of Practice relating to school admissions no longer require an admissions authority to consult when maintaining or increasing a school’s PAN, there remains a requirement to consult when the proposal is to reduce. The Governing Body of Oak Wood School, as the admissions authority for Oak Wood School, is seeking comments on the proposed change. It is important to the Governing Body, to consider the views of our parents and the wider community.
